Can I create an xp boot disk using a scandisk ubs device?
I have not used my floppy drive sinceIpurchased my pc and and it will no longer read or write to disk. I have read articles that state I can use a UBS flash drive to create a xp boot disk which allow me to transfer files to the correct folder to fix issues with files, etc. A couple of weeks ago I booted upmy HP 754n XP Home Edition and got a NTLDR missing error. So I did a non-destructive restore. Then uninstallednonfunctional software using aUninstallproduct which allows me to use a explorer file like option to uninstall products, since the application uninstall and windows add/delete programs were of no use for these products. Then I reinstalled my software. I am at SP3, 3.5 Net. Framework and have nearly gotten back 50 % free space.Right now I I have ran several McAfee full scan and hove no issues. So, I read up on the NTLDR missing and found that: 1. If I would have put my first of eight recovery disk in and hit the 'R' key I could have copied the NTLDR to the correct folder, and then rebooted machine. 2. I also found that if using the boot up floopy would have worked to accomplish this as well. But floppy drive is broke.3. I also found that I may have beenable to use either a CD or a a UBS flsh Drive. So, I have created a CD but want to use a UBS Flash drive to create a bootable disk. My problem is that I not a PC Geek. So how can I tell if I can boot from a flash drive or a CD. How can an individualcreate createa boot disk for either a flsh drive or CD.For the CD I used softwarethat was free online but would like to say with MS/HPcreation applications.Right now I have a Ford engine ina Chevy body. Any thoughts or if this is not possible? If not then sayso in a sort version. Otherwise let individuals know how to.1 person needs an answerI do too

I believe I answered my own question. There are some sites on the web that discuss this problem of creating a Bootable Flash Drive. But! You have to have a PC that allows you to boot from a Flash Drive. The, why of this question is so you can correct certian errors, and in my case it would have been fix the NTLDR error instead of doing a non-destructive restore. If you like reading and are curious or you may already know this you can open your web browser andasearch for 'NTLDR is missing' and there are various sites which address this issue. One that appeared to address this issue and it is 'Free' but would appreciate a donation if possible is 'tinyempire.com'. This site appears to have the simplest and easiest solution. But, what do I know. Try at your own risk!Maybe (Some day)MS will come up with a quick site whichwould address issues like this one and others, but then where we be headed? OH! It would be in simple english too, and instead of like my answer. But must important it would be the 'Truth'. Also, like billards where there are many angles, soyou have to choose which one is the correct path. There is of course the MS 'XP Windows Recovery Console' but in my case I needed the boot disk to get to it. Hope this helps those individuals with this particular type of error 'NTLDR is missing'. By the way if you get this error make sure if you check yourfloppy drive, and even your other DVD/CD drives to ensure they are MT (MT=empty).Read/Think.Read some more, Think some more and don't try the first thing that comes to mind. Write down any idea and Read/Think through it before acting on it. It is a Simple Life?Any other thoughts?
