Can't wake up from hibernation or send delayed message from outlook outbox after hibernation.
Hello,I have two outlook problems (don't tell me to go there just yet) that seem to be related to hibernation. I'm not getting much help in outlook. 1. My strictly hibernation problem is that last night I could not wake my computer up from hibernation. If it has not been done too long before, I can wake it up by moving my mouse. If the hibernation has been too long, I can wake it up by pushing the power button. Last night, neither worked. And, it had only been in hibernation a few hours at the most. I had to totally cut power and then turn it back on for my computer to operate again. What could be causing that?2. My outlook problem seemingly related to hibernation is this: I am working with delaying when messages are sent out. If it is before hibernation, it goes out ok - I do not have to physically hit the send/receive button. If it is after hibernation, the message remains stuck in my outlook outbox. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance to whomever may be able to help me. Oh, my email client is a pop3 account through qwest, which uses windows live hotmail. I also use Windows XP and Office 2007. My antivirus software is avast.Candy1 person needs an answerI do too

Hibernation / power option problems can 'sometimes' be cured by installing latest chipset drivers from your PC maker, it may also be the case that Bios update may address the issue.Hybernation / power options, will have no impact on Outlook, other than the fact that when your PC wakes up it would appear that not all the PC processes are operating. What happens to a delayed msg if after hybernation you close outlook, check that its not a running process in Task Manager, then restart Outlook? And then, the next time you start Outlook, do so using the safe switch, and then with a delayed msg waiting, allow the PC to go into hybernation, then after a while wake it up. Does the msg then get sent?

Thank you, Palcouk, for your answer. But, I don’t understand all of it. I’m not a computer expert. 1. What is a chipset driver, and how do I get it from my pc maker? Write to them? Try to go online and download? 2. I’ve closed and restarted both outlook and my computer several times now. The message that had a delay send of several hours is still there (four days now). The one that I only had a delay of 15 minutes sent right away, as scheduled. Both messages were only 4 kb and had no attachments. 3. Why do I have to do the safe mode thing? Should not the delayed message go out when it is told to? It would appear that hibernation is still the problem. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks to whoever can figure this out for me. Candy

The chipset driver update is obtained from your PC makers site, if a large oem eg Dell / HP or Laptop, if a generic PC from your motherboard makers site.To start outlook in with the safe switchStart> enter, outlook.exe /safe (note space between exe /)Then create your delayed msg, allow the pc to hybernate, wake the PC, see if the msg is then sent
