Can't view wireless networks - after Mcafee delete of 45 infected files - no log of file names - need to know the name of the missing .dll(s) to allow wireless networks to be displayed
This is a definite conundrum - there is not a known solution from the web that I have not tried over the last 3 weeks to fix this issue - I am convinced that I unfortunately deleted 1 or more system files associated with networking when Mcafee tagged them as infected. I am at a loss - currently the router and my two wireless laptops are working fine, but the desktop is sadly hardwired for the time being (you can't do much updating without a network connection). I am on WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION SP3 I even have a WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION SP2 on another hard drive and was able to see that the SP2 has over 50 MORE .DLL's than the SP3 - trouble is I don't know if copying them over with do good or bad. I need an expert in WINDOWS NETWORKING internals to give me a hand here.1 person needs an answerI do too

If the PC is hardwired to the router where does wireless come in?Start by going to Help>scannow.Later; http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htmThe number of dll's between two PC's is probably irrelevent
