Can't use Bitlocker on internal drives other than C:
Well, i want to encrypt an internal drive (S:\), but i can't. I doesn't show up in the Bitlocker Control Panel. Only C:\ is an option. It is a dynamic partition. Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance.

Dynamic disks are not supported by bitlocker. Change it to basic. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee449438(WS.10).aspx#BKMK_R2disksManoj Sehgal

Hi, What if you change the properties of the drive, can Bitlocker recognize it? Did you do the encryption and then change the disk to Dynamic? Is this a Windows 7 machine or a Windows 2008 Server?regards, Vik Singh

I haven't done the encryption part yet, simply because i can't. It's a Windows 7 Ultimate.

The only reason I asked you that is because when Manoj pointed to you about BitLocker, that it does not work on Dynamic drives there was a reply from you - "My C:\ is also Dynamic" This made me assume that you were successful in encrypting C drive, however that is not the case. The answer to this question and thread is - Dynamic Disks are not supported. Microsoft does provide the Software RAID solutions using Dynamic disks, however that is more of a depercated technology and is oftently used on Servers Operating Systems - if used. regards, Vik Singh
