Hi, From the description, it seems that error code 0x80070002 was received during Windows update. First of all, I noticed that you are using Mozilla Firefox as default explorer. Please make a switch to Internet explorer. If the issue persists, please refer to Windows Update error 80070002. Meanwhile, please make sure your system is clean by performing virus scan using the antivirus software. Did all that. Not switching my browser cause it has nothing to do with my problem. Also scanned for viruses. It does seem like I updated months ago and windows update stopped working. Still not work. Argh.

Hi, Given this situation, I suggest perfrom the steps below to troubleshot: Step 1.Run Dial-a-Fix to clear Windows Update temp folders and clear All Polices ======================================================= 1. Please Download Dial-a-fix.exe from the link below: Http://djlizard.net/software/Dial-a-fix-v0.60.0.24.zip Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. 2. Save the zip file on the Desktop, and please right click on the zip file and choose extract to extract all contents to the Desktop. 3. Double click the "Dial-a-fix.exe" and check “Fix Windows Update”, check “Empty temp folders”and then click "Go". Wait for the process completes. 4. Click “Flush SoftwareDistribution” 5. Click button “Polices..”. Uncheck the box “Hide disabled policies”. Click Remove Button. Click Close. 6. Click “Log” (The icon displays as a document in the bottom of the window). 7. When the prompted window appears, Click "Save". Please save the file on the Desktop. 8. Return to the Desktop, you can upload the collected files to SkyDrive, and let me know the URL by replying this thread.
