Can't set Foxit Reader as standard PDF reader in Windows 7
I started to use Windows 7 and wanted the Foxit Reader again as my standard PDF reader. However, even if I check the box 'yes, pleeeease open pdf aaaalways with this program' I have to define again for every subsequent pdf which program I want to use (and I only have Foxit Reader). Moreover, that might also be the cause for the unability of my Firefox browser to open Pdfs at all? I already searched for the menu where I could tell Firefox how to open a pdf, but I can't find any button at all. Would be great, if somebody could help me, since I need pdfs every day...!! Thank you.

Perhaps it’s no consolation to you but Foxit works perfectly in Internet Explorer.

No ;]. But the main problem is really the normal opening of a PDF regardless of any browser or internet download. I always have to specify, that Windows shell open it with Foxit Reader. I just thought, that this might also be somehow related to the PDF problems in my Firefox. I tried the Internet Explorer and encountered exactly the same problem. So probably it's due to Foxit Reader + Windows 7 itself.

Have you tried reinstalling Foxit Reader? I have been using it with Windows 7 both x86 and x64 since the beta, now RTM, and have had no problems what so ever.

Didn't work for me either, same problem so I switched to Adobe Reader and that works okay. It also does a better job of printing some PDFs I received recently than Foxit did. Win 7 RC1

Running Windows 7 RTM (x64) with Foxit installed, and everything seems to open correctly for me. Try going to Default Programs (start menu search) > Set Associations > .pdf > [Change Program] > Browse for Foxit. On the other hand, I don't get pdf thumbnails... but thats an entirely separate issue.

Yes, i tried twice. But after your message I had a look again on the Foxit Reader website, and there was apparantly an update. So I reinstalled it with this new version and now it seems to work, yeay! Also within my Firefox. Thank you ;]!

I always had problems especially with printing PDFs in Adobe so I switched to Foxit and like it much better. And after my installation of Windows 7 I just did not want to have Adobe any longer on my system. It just takes so much resources.
