Can't see files on another computer in Homegroup
I have setup a Homegroup with three computers. On one of the machines all the libraries have been marked to Share With Homegroup (Read & Write) and I can see the libraries on the other machines but when I click on them nothing happens - I am unable to see any of the files in these libraries! Is there something else I need to do? JJP

Hi, Please see Windows 7 HomeGroup: Walkthrough to make sure that you have configured right settings on your Home Group. If you have configured the settingscorrectly, please use HomeGroup Troubleshooter to check the issue. Click Start, type homegroup, and then press ENTER. Click Start the HomeGroup troubleshooter. If the shared libraries on PC1 cannot be view from PC2 and PC3, can you access libraries on PC2 from PC3 and vice versa? I think it would be helpful to run Control Panel -> Troubleshooting -> Network and Internet -> Home Group, any problem/solution found? If you still have the same issue, please re-setup the homegroup (leave the homegroup and re-join in) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Leave-a-homegroup

i had this same problem where i could the the folders in the HomeGroup, but when I clocked on one nothing would happen. Here is how I fixed it.. On each computer in the HomeGroup do this: 1) Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center 2) on the left, click on "Change adavanced sharing settings" 3)Scroll down until you see the "HomeGroup connections" section 4) Make sure that the option "Allow windows to manage HomeGroup connections" is checked. 5) follow instructions to log out, then it works.. In case you are curious, these settings were also checked in the home or work profile in "advanced sharing settings" -turned on discovery -turned on file and print sharing -public folder sharing on (not recommended) -media streaming off -128 bit file sharing connections -turned on password protected sharing hope this helps!

HeDgECoRe44 is definitely on to something. I tried to follow that same approach, but "Allow windows to manage.." was already checked. But just to force a change of something, I switched on the 40 and 56bit password option, then logged out and back on. Voila! The other station could see the files. So, perhaps it's simply a matter of changing something in the advanced sharing area, saving, logging out, then maybe even changing it back that resets or forces Windows 7 to allow the simple Homegroup sharing we were all trying to set in the first place!
