Can't run defragmenter
When i try to run the disc defragmentor I get the error message that chkdsk is scheduled to run and asks me to run chkdsk /f. I tried to run chkdsk from the command line and it said did I want it to run at next start up. chkdsk still hasn't run and I still can't run the defragmenter. Where can I go next. I'm running a lenovo laptop with xp and sp3. Help1 person needs an answerI do too

Hello. You must run chkdsk if the defragmenter says so. Check, first of all, how much space available there is on your drive. If it is too little it won't work. You must free disk space for defrag to work correctly, I think you should have at least 10% free space. Go to the Run command and type chkdsk /f and reboot. It should run a check disk then. just reboot your laptop, the chkdsk will automatically run and post that you would be able to run defragmenterHowever, note that you should have atleast 10% of HDD space as free for defragmenter to runShantanu Mishra
