Backup on Windows 7 64 bit has worked for months - now it comes up with error 0x80070015 - backup failed - run backup. I have reinstalled Windows, formatted the external HD -- searched the forums and don't seem to be able to find a solution. Computer is new high spec'd i7 - ATI HD 5870 6GB ram Gigabte x58 MB -- Windows 7 ultimate, office 2010 RTM Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Hi, I would like to confirm if the issue only occurs when backing-up to external HD. According to my research, the backup operation fails because Automated System Recovery (ASR) unnecessarily returns an error for noncritical disks. The following thread also discussed this issue.
