Can't rename or delete folders because thumbs.db is accessed / locked
Hy techguys! I have a problem deleteing or renaming folders on a network share. When I look at the opened files on the Server I noticed that the Thumbs.db in the folder is opened by a user. But the User have already closed the folder. If i disconnect the Session on the Server the folder can be renamed or deleted. The other way is to wait and the Session will close automatically. This lasts between minutes to houres? Anyone an Idea why the connection to the thumbs.db were not closed? Thanks Stefan

This is a design behavior. The thumb cache is for a logged user but not for any folders. Therefore it will be always loaded if a user session is active. If you do not want to keep this folder, make the change in related policy: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer > Turn off the caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db filesPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
