As too many of you may recall, we beat this topic to death on MSNewsGroups, but to no avail. The cause for this problem has now become clear, if there is anyone left out there who gives a hoot. Unfortunately, the solution has not become clear.Because of this, and several other problems, I reformated my HD and did a clean reinstall with my original disc - WIn XP IE6 OE6 SP2. After getting the basics working again, I sent, and received emails with jpg attachments no problem. JOY !Then I reinstalled IE8. Talk about progress - I can no longer receive emails with jpg attachments, nor can I make IE8 understand I want Google for a Home Page. Goinig back to IE6 did not change the problem. Once IE8 is in, I'm permanently jinxed. But I have my Home Page back :-)I post this as a matter of interest for the remaining few who care, if any. I would recommend installing XP SP3, as that may rectify the situation and it also fixes a number of issues.
