Can't reach outside IP addresses except for Microsoft.com.
I just installed Vista 5384 over our corporate PC image for testing. IE7 will connect only to internal sites on our network and Microsoft.com. All other sites return the "cannot open this site" page. I cannot evenget a ping returned from external addresses. The pings resolve but do not return. (Microsft.com neverreturns a ping, of course.) I've spent hours adjusting permissions and browser settings with no change in the behavior. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be stumping me? Thanks. Rich

Hi, are you testing the connection from your corporate network? If so, it may due to firewall problem. It block the traffic from your Vista.

Hello, I've encountered this problem in our network too. I read in one site that it is something related to stateful firewall found in most of the routers or firewalls. i've though found a workaround without adjusting the firewall settings. just change the ethernet speed in the ethernet device properties in device manager to 10mbps. 100/1000mbps was giving the browsing problem. cheers..
