Can't open Outlook E-mail
· My Outlook E-mail was working fine yesterday morning. When I went back after lunch to check it I couldn't get in. It ask for server, User name & password every time but then won't do anything. When I X out of that box I get this: There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 I have tried everything I could find in my searching for almost a full day now and it still won't work. What's funny (to me anyway) is that I can send a message with that account thru Word. 1 person got this answerI do too

Since you pay for your mail service, your best bet is to call your service provider (AT&T) support number and have them work it out with you. The error clearly states that you are entering the wrong credentials and if you believe you are not, the server administrators will have to straighten that out.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

Brian, Thank you so much. We have been using this E-mail account for 4 years, haven't changed anything & have had no problems until now. Have the same User name, password, etc. I'll get in touch with AT&T. (Shouldn't take over 10 to 12 hours). All jokes aside, thank you so very much for replying!

AT&T may be in the process of migrating the bellsouth mail server over to Yahoo, which they use for their other services, like SBC. When the SBC service migrated, some people were not told. Perhaps this is true for you and well.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

What sometimes happens is you are required to use your full email address rather than just the username.
