Can't make HTTp connection. Winsock reset needed. Tried the Fix-it!
helloWe are running Windows XP SP3.For the last few days Internet explorer will not display the page (other browsers do not work either!). Antivirus programs can update and Skype works so I know we have some connectivity.I tried the troubleshooting thing that Internet Explorer provides and it says that a Winsock reset is needed. I downloaded the Microsoft Fix-it 50203 with another computer onto a CD and ran it but it hasnt solved the problem. The Network diagnostics also says that it successfully connected to www.microsoft.com andftp.microsoft.com, but under HTTP it says there was an error 12029 connecting towww.microsoft.com and that it could not make an HTTP connection. System restore is not working for some reason. What should I do now? All help appreciated! One other thing I should add is that we did a malware scan and it found several trojans which were deleted but unfortunately this did not help!1 person got this answerI do too
