I was trying to enable file sharing, went into the system file and computer name tab and tried to change to workgroup from a domain. After the restart, my password into my account was no longer recognized. I have since logged in as administrator and tried to change back to domain but it won't let me connect to that domain which was originally set up when I was in grad school. Can't figure out how to get back into my primary account without losing all of my files.1 person needs an answerI do too

unfortunately, there is no IT department, i'm no longer at that school and this is a personal computer. Is it possible for me switch domains since I'm no longer at that school without losing all of my data?

usually switch to domain won't cause data lost but in case that you are worry take backup of your data.In domian there is a domain admin to manage them you should discuss with them. Also Domain should accept you NOT simply join domain.
