I just bought a new laptop with windows 8.1 inbuilt. I'm having issues installing Calibre on it. After the download, when i proceed to set up a pop up window shows up and the message "This installation package could not be opened. Contact application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package."

Please help. I can't put books on my kindle :( 

Calibre is fully compatible with Windows 8. I shall suggest you to use compatibility mode for installing the application.

This issue could be caused by corrupted installation program or inappropriate file extension. Please ensure you download this program with right version from Calibre website.

Since Calibre is not hosted by Microsoft. Id suggest you posting your issue to Calibre Help FAQ. There you can get more effective suggestion by other experts who familiar with this program. Your understanding is highly appreciated.
