"Local Area Connection Status" ==> "Local Area Connection Properties" ==> "Select Network Feature Type" ==> "Select Network Client" ==> ...If I try to select "Client for Microsoft Networks", windows vista gives me an error: "could not add the requested feature. The error is: Access is Denied." Also, if I try to add this client from the command line: netcfg it gives the same error access is denied. Hey, Did you manage to get a solution foryour problem? I am using Vista Ultimate and i'm having the same issue but with the "tcp/ip v4" protocol. The error is "Could not add the requested feature. The error is: access is denied. I have tried: netsh int ip reset removing the registry keys for tcpip re-installing the NICs deleting the oem*.inf files from C:\windows\inf\ running a sfc /verifyonly Checking permissions on tcpip.sys None of these fixes fixed it for me and i'm having to use someone elses computer for internet access at the moment. The best solution would be to give everybody who paid for Vista a free copy of 7. There is no other solution to the "Vista Problem."
