Can't get past login screen
So I installed the 64-bit Windows 7 RC yesterday on my HP dv9500t notebook. Upon reaching the login screen it asked me for my password as usual, but when I tried to type it in it said the Verisoft couldn't access the server. I rebooted into safe mode and deleted the Verisoft folder, but left it in the Recycle Bin in case I needed it back. Rebooted again in normal mode to try the password but it just brought up my password hint. I know I was typing the password right because it was the same password I always had and it worked in safe mode. I rebooted again into safe mode and tried to disable requiring users to log in, seeing if I could bypass the password all-together. That was unsuccessful as well. It still brought up the login screen. AGAIN rebooted into safe mode, tried changing the password, it let me change the password, but still the same thing. The password didn't work. So I just left it sitting there overnight hoping maybe it was just taking a long time to sign in or something, and when I got up this morning it was still on the login screen but it said it needed to install two updates. I did that hoping maybe that would magically fix that problem. That's why I no longer believe in magic. :P NOW when I type in my password it comes up actually saying "User name or password incorrect" or something like that. I tried getting into safe mode, but it says the same thing on there now. I even tried the startup repair but it asks for a username and password and tells me my password is incorrect. I am 100% sure I'm typing the new password correctly. I even tried the old password. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue, well I did not have such success getting in safe mode the first time. I have the 32 bit Windows 7 RC on a HP desktop with the Phenom tri-care processor and 4 GB of PC 6400. The install went flawlessly and all appeared to be going well until my wirelesss connection would drop out, sometimes reconnect, then dropped for one last time and refused to even attempt to connect. It somehow disabled the adapter and when I tried to reenable it, after an hour of waiting for it to enable, I tried to end it to try again. It would not end at firstand then locked up the entire PC. I hard rebooted it and when it came up I put in my password, also the one I use on everything, and it said teh password was incorrect. I tried several times and then even plugged in a new keyboard. Rebooted to safe mode gave me the same result. I am stuck, I could format and reinstall, but I was hoping ther was a quicker fix. I too am 100% sure the password I entered is accurate. If anyone has any help it would be so appreciated! Thanks

Do you have a password recovery disc? I would suggest that if you don't have a password recovery disc that you boot to the windows system DVD and choose the Disk recovery option and then select System Restore. This would work if you knew that password from a previous period prior to now where you're not able to logon.
