Can't get Windows 7 to connect to the internet.
Very unusual problem after installing Windows 7. Installation detected and installed NIC adapter fine (VIA). Can see the local network fine (reports local access only). Network diagnostics report "no default gateway present" even though DHCP assigned a gateway. Every other computer on the network can connect to the internet (gateway up and functioning). Heres the interesting thing, can ping other computers on the network but cannot ping any of my routers (have 3 subnets) Get the following message "reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (the IP assigned to the NIC?) destination host unreachable". Attempted to join my domain, received a "parameter incorrect" error message. This one has me scratching my head.Specifics;Small domain with standalone computers.Active directory, DHCP, DNS, and WINS all hosted on a server '08 box.3 subnets, 1 public facing router.Any input on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Since you have multiple routers, and also the Windows Server has enabled DHCP, we do not know which DHCP server should assign IP address for the Windows 7 beta computer. Would you please give us more information? If it is possible, I suggest that you take the cable off from one worked computer and connect it to the Windows 7 computer and let us know the result. If the issue persists, I suggest that you download the network adapter driver from the computer manufacturers website and reinstall the driver.Arthur Xie - MSFT
