Can't get Win7 to detect any Wireless Network
What can I do?, the driver of the Wireless Card it's ok on the device manager, but i can't seem to get my pc to detect any network at all.Thx.

Silly question, but the network you are trying to detect may have SSID broadcasting off. In that case you will need to add your wireless network manually.Additionally, if it is a laptop, it may have a physical location, on the laptop, to turn wirless on and off. After verifying both above, best way to test your wireless settings, go to a public place that offers free wireless and see if you can get it there.

Make sure you have your drivers installed correctly. When I first installed Win 7 beta, my wireless card wasnt working until I got my driver package from Dell support and installed them. Then it worked!

it may be a tad bit on the inconvenient side but get aLinksys wireless router (sisco) and if it not detecting you wireless card out of the box try getting a Linksys wireless card, the one I have had has never let me down :) windows found it right out of the Box.I have heard tell tales of certain off brand routers and cards just being hated ..I won't name em .

might be a odd question but is you wireless net work "hidden"? check your stitngs, also conect to a either net line and and connect to the either net port, and then manualy go into the router via Ip and see if the broad cast to you router is turned on..also is it picking up any other net works? if so its a definate settings isse. also might strange odd but go to either net connection to see if windows will at least ID your router and load the drivers.sometimes windows needs a physical conection to properly ID the router.then it could be that your wirelss router borked on ya, that happens from time to time too.

Hey, I have a Linksys wireless card, but Windows 7 won't recognize it. I've installed the latest drivers and everything. How did you get yours to work??

I had the same problem just after install and discovered that my laptop had a toggle on/off wireless button (function + F5). After I switched it on, all was good. Not sure if I accidentally turned it off or it was switched off during install.

It could also be a firewall issue. When I first installe win7 I found out that Zone Alrm was not compatible. Once uninstalled, I had complete network connection

When you click on the Network Icon in the tray and there are no networks, you should be seeing a troubleshoot link. What does it report when you click on the troubleshoot link..

I have an IBM T43 and windows7 doesnt detect wireless. I am unable to find the drivers for the laptop as it has exceeded warranty period. Can anyone tell me a workaround for getting wireless working? or may be tell me how to get wireless drivers?

I had a problem connecting to my home network with a hidden ssid. You have to choose connect even if this network is not broadcasting. I didn't notice this the first time and could only connect ifI enabled the ssid on my router.

I alsohad same problem with my PC. Okay, here is the solution. Use Ethernet cord to connect to Internet. As soon as you're connected to Internet, the vireless adaptor will display all the networks. Note: When your PC is connected to Internet for the first time, you may have to wait for few minutes so the hardware drivers are updated. When you do a clean installation of Windows 7 beta, Windows 7 beta recognises several drivers, but some of them might not work untill your PC is connected to the Internet, and updates are installed. Hope this helps... Zaheer Sheikh

I was having this problem every time I made a change i.e. theme, disabling caching. Each time I made a change I would get dropped into my 'Public' profile and network discovery was off, hence I could not find my network. After trying in vain to fix this, windows finally popped up a 'would you like windows to fix this problem' box. I did and have had no troubles since.

Open Services and try stopping and starting "WWLAN AutoConfig". In my case they were already started, and I could see my SSID, but could not connect to my wireless router until after I stopped and started WLAN. Hope it helps.

I was able to connect to my SSIS with broadcast off but it is not really clear how to do it. I noticed the wireless bars are white instead of green. When you click on the bars, you will see at the bottom "connect to a network". I entered my SSID and then the WPA password and it connected without a hitch. It took me a while because it is not really that clear how to do it.
