Can't find drivers to connect Canon Printer IP6700 from Windows Vista to PC using Windows 7
I have a HP PC using Windows Vista to which I have connected a Canon Printer IP6700D. I have just bought a HP TouchSmart PC with Windows 7. I have created a network for the purpose of sharing the printer with this new PC. I see the printer in the selection, I clicked on it, it shows in my listing as a printer that is ready. However, it won't print. Any ideas??

If you're looking for the Windows 7 drivers go to http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=184&modelid=13363#DownloadDetailAct However, your post is a little confusing and I am not sure if you're looking for the drivers or if you have another problem.

I had a driver problem. Thought it was fixed, but it is not. From my HP Touchsmart (Windows 7) , I can see the network and the printer that is on the main PC (Windows Vista). When I click on the Canon printer, it says it is connecting to the printer on the main PC. However, after a while, I get a message that it cannot locate my driver for the Canon IP6700D. Then it proceeds to request that I find the printer drive INF for the printer. I don't know where to find the path. Then I proceeded to add a printer from the HP Touchsmart PC, it found the driver and installed an icon on the network. Great I thought!! However, it won't print. It sure helps when you know what you are doing. This is the first time, I simply can't get it going. Any guidance??

I think you need to contact Canon Tech Support to sort this out. The info on their website is a bit confusing to me since they don't list a Windows 7 driver, but have an Add On Module and I don't know if you need that or not. You are experiencing a Canon specific problem and not a Windows problem. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=184&modelid=13363#DownloadDetailAct URL for Canon website. Also, since you say you just bought your HP Touchsmart PC with Windows 7 installed, HP is solely responsible for supporting it during the warranty period and you should contact them about this also.

Did you try installing the driver on the HP PC using Windows Vista? If the issue persists after installing the driver, you can also refer to the following articles to troubleshoot this issue: Install a printer on a home network Troubleshoot network printer problems
