Can't find System Backup/Imaging
I'm used to Windows 7, now I have 8.1 (non-pro) and I can't find any way to backup the complete C: drive, OS and all. I've been googling it but the example screen shots shown do not match what I have. Am I missing something (in both senses)? I expected to find it in File History but it's

IMHO I would not use the built in back up as it is dependent on being able to boot your machine.  If you cant boot you cant access the backup.  There are some good 3rd party backup apps, one of which is Acronis True Image home (paid)

You could, of course, create a bootable Recovery Drive (e.g., USB stick), then once booted you could restore your Windows System Image backup.

You can create a full System Image backup from the File History control panel applet.  One can even be scheduled, though with Windows 8 and newer you have to do it yourself via Task Scheduler and the wbadmin command.

All you need is already provided.  You just have to master it, which is no different than with 3rd party software.

Hi Carey,

It is in bottom left corner under file history. Sometimes you need wait few seconds till it shows up. As mentioned by Noel, it is no different with 3rd party software.

I recently read the article about How to Create a System Image Backup for Windows 8 or 8.1 with AOMEI Bakupper ?It really helpful to solve your problem.Windows 8 or 8.1 system image backup is the the best way to protect your data by making a copy of the C: drive (supposing Windows 8 or 8.1 is installed in C: partition), if you do that, the Windows 8/8.1, system settings, programs, and files will be stored as an image file and it can be restored at any time even your computer stop working. Of course, you still can create a Windows 8 or 8.1 hard disk image backup instead of the system image so that all the data on your hard disk will be protected, including games, movies and music, etc.
