Can't establish network connections anymore
Hi,some days ago I installed the Shrew VPN on my Vista64 and everything seemed as if it worked fine. After my next reboot I could not connect to WiFi or LAN anymore, so I tried a system restore which did not help. So I uninstalled all remains of Shrew, hoping that this would help - it did not. Now I deleted everything of Shrew that I could find, including several registry entries (also from LOCAL_MACHINE, which were quite hard to remove).Reinstalling network driver did not work either; as it is not possible (As after this first restart my WiFi says "connected with limited access" and LAN says that a cable is plugged in but either IPv4 and IPv6 say "not connected".Device manager tells me for these connections: "The device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).Reinstalling the drivers fails with "This device is not configured correctly (Code 1).I don"t know, if this helps but after I uninstalled the LAN connection (Intel 82567LM Gigabit network connection) from the device manager another entry "Intel 82567LM Gigabit network connection - Virtual machine network service driver" stays there and I am not able to uninstall this one.Any help is appreciated : )Thanks in advance.Manuel

Hi Manuel, The problem sounds like Network protocols missing form TCP/IP properties after software removal. I suggest you take the following suggestions to troubleshoot the problem. 1. Click Start, type REGEDIT in Start Search bar, and press Enter. 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network 3. Right click the Network entry, choose "Export", select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. Click Save. Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file. 4. Highlight this key Network, on the right pane, please delete config value. 5. Restart the computer to reinstall the driver again. Hope it helps.
