Can't delete a folder off of the desktop
So I've only had this problem for a couple of days. I was using Adobe Audition to edit some sound files and saved everything on the desktop. After I was done, I moved all the files to a new area (I have done it this was hundreds of times) and went to delete
the folder on the desktop, but I can't.
-When I try to delete it, it says it can't be located and to try again
-I CAN put other files/folder into this folder
-I have tried deleting it from command prompt
-I tried reseting my comp/turning it off and back on
-I tried refreshing my desktop
Any help is appreciated. Win 7 64x 12GB ram Intel i7

Try using the Handle utility that you find at the following web address

Thank you for the response.
This, unfotrunately, did not solve the problem.

Navigate to the folder, from command line, and enter the following command:
DIR > c:\directory.txt
Now open the text file (c:\directory.txt) and display the contents here. I'm trying to see if there are any files in that folder that are being used by a Windows process that are not allowing the folder to be removed/deleted. _JoeG

I can't navigate to the folder via command. It will list it when I enter 'dir' but I cannot actually enter the folder.
Also, just got done running a chkdisk and still nothing.

LambertJohn, would it be possible to send screenshots of this folder? Or even better, can you run the PSR (Problem Step Recorder) and attempt to delete the folder like you normally would. Once you're done trying to delete the folder, hit the STOP buttong
on the PSR application. Once you hit stop, you will be prompted to save a zip file to your local computer. Once that zip file has been saved, upload it to your SkyDrive account and link to it here in this thread. Let's see if we determine what the issue is
from there.
To run the PSR application, go to Start> and in the search box, type PSR. Then click on the PSR app listed in the Start menu. That should get your started. _JoeG
