Can't create task in Vista Task Scheduler
Everytime I try to create a task using the "Run whether user is logged on or not" option I am prompted for credentials, after entering the credentials I receive the following error: An error has occurred for task mytask. Error message: The following error was reported: A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. I've tried several domain accounts and each one fails with the same error. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Hello Ken, I suspected that it was a user permission issue. 1. Turn UAC off in Windows Vista. 2. Check whether or not we could create a task with the local user account instead of the domain user account. 3. Check whether it is a local session or a remote desktop session as well. 4. Add the domain user account to the local Administrators group to have a test. Cheers!

Hi, thanks for your response. First, please refer to the following Knowledge Base to disabled the "Network access: Do not allow storage of credentials or .NET Passports for network authentication" policy. Error message when you try to automatically deploy agents in MOM 2005: "A specified logon session does not exist. It may have already been terminated" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912998/en-us Disjoin the domain and test the issue in the Workgroup environment. Hope it works!

Thanks. This is a security setting included in our group policy. We'll need to review the setting and determine whether or not it's worth changing.
