Can't connect to a wireless network anymore.
Hello!I Installed Windows 7 and as many of others I had some trouble setting up the wireless drivers. After a while I managed to set it up correctly and for a while it worked perfectly.A week ago, I turned on my computer and I could not connect to any wireless network. I mean, windows can detect them, it lists them perfectly but when I try to connect it's always the same error that it had some trouble connecting. The troubleshooter can't do anything.I already tryied to reset my modem and rooter but still, nothing.I reinstalled the drivers to the adapter; I restored the system to the day it was working and still... nothing.I have a wireless network adapter from Realtek RLT8187b and a Toshiba Satellite L40.The only OS I have installed on MY computer is Windows 7, so I'm in a bit of trouble and hurry.. :\Thanks in advance for the help.

Well, I'll state the obvious... "something" changed. Did you install any software in the time frame when it worked and when it stopped ? (Even Windows update !! if so, can you provide the KB number)When Win7 "detects" your wireless network, what is shown for signal strength ?Can any other wireless device still connect to your wirelss router ?Can you re-run your wireless setup again, and manually enter (or verify) that the SSID matches, and that any additioanl security (WEP or WPA, and password) match your wireless router ?Also, can you open up a command line (Windows key - R combination, then CMD ) and type in IPCONFIG/ALLDoes that report that DHCP is enabled ?What are the timestamps for lease obtained and lease expires ?Is the listed gateway reflective of the IP of your router ?Can you successfully use a wired connection with the Win7 machine ?Jim

The only software that was installed it was automatically installed when I connected my PocketPC to the computer.I didn't notice any updates made to the system. The strnght of the signal is at the maximum and all other computers in my house are connected to it. There are 2 computers besides mine.I already rerun my wireless setup manually and automatically. Tryed to update the drivers again and there the system says that they are up to date. I don't understand the question on "Can you successfully use a wired connection with the Win7 machine ?"I'll get back to you on the DHCP question in a moment.
