Can't configure apple airport on Windows 7
I recently bought a new PC with Windows 7 home premium. I have installed my apple airport and want to use it for airtunes (stream my itunes to the stereo). This worked with my old computer (windows xp). I can't get it to work with the new one. When I open the airport configuration program and try to change the settings the PC can't connect to the apple airport. It is only seen as a new wireless network. I've read that I should reset my lmCompatibilitylevel from 3 to 1. In regedit I can't find any lmCompatibilitylevel?? Can any of you help me with this problem? kind regards, Michel

I am having a similar issue, I cannot find the Airport Express anywhere to connect with it. I know the Airport Express is working because my brother has come over with a mac and he can use his air tunes via the AE. I have had apple on the phone three times and they tell me it is probably a windows configuration problem but do not know what I need to configure. I along with Michel would love some help with this issue. Scott

Apple networking products require Bonjour for Windows (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999) in order to work with non-Apple products. Bonjour is Apple's own DNS resolver and you'll need that to connect your Windows machine to an Apple router. Some earlier versions of Bonjour are known to have issues with Windows 7, interfering with Windows DNS services and causing phantom networks to appear - but the latest version supposedly fixes this.

Hi, To reset the LmCompatibilityLevel, you may add a DWORD value LmCompatibilityLevel under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa] and change the value to 1. If it does not work, you may refer to the following link to check if there are any firmware or software updates are available to be downloaded. http://support.apple.com/downloads/#airport Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. I notice that the System Requirements of AirPort Express does not include Windows 7 below. Please also contact the local Apple Support for more information about the compatibility under Windows 7. http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/specs.html Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
