Can't access sites/messenger programs, still connected.
For some reason after running a while, sometimes it's a few minutes sometimes it's several hours, my internet connection stops working, partially. I noticed that my torrents were still downloading and uploading fine, but nothing else was working anymore, messenger programs or websites and email were all not available. But when diagnosing the connection it said there were no problems. Internet will not work again after I that no matter what I try, it'll only work again if I reboot the machine. I'm connected to the internet through a modem/router, and I'm using ICS on my connection. This is definitely a Vista issue as I never had the problem with XP and my other PC that's running XP can still access the net when Vista can't.Any suggestions for possible fixes?

I've nearly the same problem: I'm connected to the internet using a NIC connected to a dsl-modem, no router etc.I use a 2. NIC for my LAN and ICS.A 2. PC (windows XP) is connected through this NIC to the net.So after several hours ...mostly after some more as 1 day, suddenly no websites are reachable, email can't be used. ICQ, XFire and IRC a.e. are still working. Also the Internet on the XP-machine is working fine, all websites accessible. After a reboot, all is working againHelp is appreciated

I am looking at a similar problem. I am running Windows Vista. Connected to a DSL modem through a USB port. Sometimes I can not see web pages. My MSN works. I can even play some of the internet games (not web based). There are times I can access web pages too. This started happending when I upgraded from windows XP to Windows Vista.
