Can't access files on a remote computer in Windows Explorer

Dmkkg,

Since the owner of the remote machine has switched to a different ISP and installed a new router, its a strong possibility that their network configuration has changed.  Unless they were able to keep their old IP address and configure port forwarding on the new router the way it was previously, you wouldnt be able to connect using the old information.

Even though the machine still shows up in Windows Explorer, youre not going to be able to connect to it without first getting the new information from the owner of the remote machine.

I hope this helps.

I use Hamachi vpn with a remote computer on there which shows up in Windows Explorer on my machine.  Up to now I have been able to access files on the remote computer in Windows Explorer but the owner of the remote machine recently changed his ISP and also the router and since then i have not been able to access the files.  The machine shows up in Windows Explorer but on clicking it I get this message:

" \\XYZ-PC is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact administrator of this  server ......
The network address is invalid. "

Permissions on the remote machine have remained the same.

Would appreciate any help in putting this right.
