I have two PC's one desk top, one lap top that are connected through a wireless router. I have two external drives connected to the desk top machine, e: and f: Until today I could access both of those drives from the laptop. Suddenly this afternoon, I can't access either of the external drives. I can see them in Windows Explorer, when I click on either of them I get a message that I can't access because I don't have permisison. I verified both are shared, and as I said, up until today, I had no problems accessing. Both the laptop and the desk top have identical user information and passwords...why did it suddenly change?

According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Go to credential manager, clear the credential manager and create new credential with username and password 2 Try to use \\ipaddress\sharefolder to access share folder 3 Temporally disable firewall on desktop and laptop 4 Try to map the share folder on laptop 5 Restart wireless router If the issue persists, try to use cable wired on laptop to see the result.
