Can't Send Email: No error messages?
ISP: telus, Email account: telus, Outlook Express 2007 SP3, win XP SP3 AV: SymantecHi there,We received a pre configured PC to publish a weekly e newsletter. The PC is able to surf the internet. The PC has multiple web emails hooked into Outlook. I can only assume the email account settings worked for them. There are no error dialogs/messages when I try to send emails or click send/receive. The emails sit in the outbox.I can send email via the telus account if I log into their webmail site.https://webmail.telus.net/telusbeta/driver?nimlet=showloginI have re-created the email account and tried POP3 and IMAP configurations in outlook. The POP3 email account setttings work (without server authentication. I did enter the account's name and pw) on another XP PC which also has outlook 2007 SP3. Symantec is also being used and is configured identically. I also verified all email settings with my ISP/ESP. I toggled the firewall settings on both PCs with no affect. (positive or negative) Suggestions welcome.1 person needs an answerI do too

HiWhen Outlook is configured with email account the name of the servers that sends and receives the email has to be typed into the menus.Example, http://www.ezlan.net/Win7/pop3_account.jpgIf the server is not there, or was not typed correctly, or it is temporarily down, Outlook “protests” that it can Not find the server, or simple does nothing. So, check your Outlook Configuration. Please not that some ISPs block the use of email programs that try to use a mail server that is not part of their system, as an Example Verizon DSL allows only connection to their own mail server when using Outlook. The solution (when having such an ISP) is to use an email address that can be managed through theBrowser, like Hotmail.-----------------------Jack MVP-Networking. EZLAN.NET

As I said before I checked with my ISP (telus) and mail provider (telus) about these settings. The server: mail.telus.net works for both slots on my other PC which runs the same OS and outlook. It must be something else.

I tried Telus's reccomended settings (pop & smtp) again on my other PC and can replicate the problem of receiving only.I disabled my local fire walls and Norton emdpoint security & still can't send email.
