Running XP Home on an old Gateway laptop. Suspect recent upgrade by McAfee Total Protection failed and as result many services and functions disabled. Others appear to have this problem. Switching to AVG soon as I resolve this. Thanks for the help.1 person needs an answerI do too

If it were only that simple. Thanks though. Can't uninstall programs either. I've tried Safe Mode too, w/and w/o networking. I saw some threads regarding McAfee and XP system services that fail to install....
