Can't Access Safe Mode to Remove Virus
Anyone out there that know computers really well? I am pretty good with computers but I am stumped right now because I have a few viruses and back door trojans that are preventing me from accessing my computer. I try to start my computer in safe mode but I can not get to the screen to get me to safe mode. I have XP and I know that you are to push F8 as soon as it starts up (before the XP screen comes up) to try to get to safe mode but when I press F8 it does not take me to safe mode. When I press F8, It takes me to this screen: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/Princess_Ivy/Photo24.jpg The 2 viruses that I have are: wscntfy.exe and the Antivirus Soft fake security software If anyone can give me any insight on how to access safe mode on my computer I would greatly appreciate it. Again, right now F8 is not taking me to the screen to prompt me to go to safe mode so are there any other solutions. I do not have the XP CD to format my hard drive. It's in storage so I need other solutions on how to fix this problem. Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Thank you. Well I pressed the options you advised and was able to get to the screen to prompt me to go to safe mode but when i select safe mode now there is just a black screen. How long does it usually take for Safe Mode to launch once you select it.

what is run able position? Well, I tried to launch all the safe modes but none of them are launching. Any idea of how long it will take for safe mode to launch because i figured it would launch after about 10 minutes

at least the required system file should be in good condition to run the computer and not infected and corrupted by viruses
