Camera takes pictures but no live feed avalible
Recently I have tried to use my built in camera on my laptop. When I open the app [the one that is automatically downloaded] the screen is grey. I can see the picture icon and the video icon but there is no live feed on the screen, it is just grey. But if I click to take a picture, it actually takes a picture. I have tried updating the camera tried disabling it then enabling it. I even tried uninstalling it, and then reinstalling it. Still nothing. I have absolutely no idea what to do. I have tried looking it up but no one seems to have my problem. Another separate problem is that it wont take videos. but I will deal with that when this gets worked out. So please someone help me!

If it is a problem with default camera app then you can try running the Apps troubleshooter.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Hi,

In addition to what suggested by S.Sengupta, this issue is normally caused by drivers.

If Update camera driver didnt help, try reverting the camera drivers back to the officially supported manufacturers version see if it work. I suggest you download the version from manufacturer website for one more try. In the other hand, if you are using a driver from manufacturer, try uninstall this camera and install with Microsoft version.

Here is a similar case from Lenovo for your reference
