CHKDSK NTFS all Security IDs deleted and replaced by default
The NTFS file system of my XP SP3 essential! engineering workstation has been corrupted by CHKDSK.Per KB327009, after "moving a lot of data and the NTFS security info associated with that data", CHKDSK reported errors and "fixed" them by deleting security IDs on all files and replacing them with default security IDs. The problem is acknowledged as a Microsoft fault and a hotfix was offered. This situation is widely reported on web. I have researched CHKDSK and NTFS technical details and understand the basic mechanism. I found only one report of a solution which involved direct MS support and use of MS internal tool CorrectSD.I need to open a ticket for priority no-charge MS technical support resolution of this problem. Please reply to this message ASAP. 1 person got this answerI do too
