CANNOT CHANGE WIRELESS (SPOOF) MAC ADDRESS ON WINDOWS 7
I have read several posts and the questions seems unanswered! How do you spoof a wireless card mac address in windows 7. I have heard everything from using the newtwork adress option in the advanced wireless configuation options in windows 7 to using only 12 in the first two digits of mac address but none of this offers a solution. This is not a BUG in windows 7. This seems intentional and and attributable to the windows 7 drivers. The only way that I have found to make the mac address spoofable is, e.g. on windows 7 x64, is to use th XP drivers for your wireless card, be it XP 64 or XP 32, whichever is applicable. If you use the XP drivers, then programs like technitiums (http://www.technitium.com/) mac changer or smac will work for you. i tried everything else. The problem is in the windows 7 drivers. MAC address changes are ignored. Why? I don't know. If anyone can find a way to do it while still using the Windows 7 drivers please post.

On windows 7, your mac address is same of in WINDOWS XP MODE. Use IPCONFIG /ALL or your wireless software to check MAC ADDRESS. Thanks

Well done, works a treat! I have the same adapter incidently. Just a note: You must install the latest vista driver in windows 7 and the XP driver in XP mode. Otherwise the XP drivr will be used on both and it wont connect in windows 7. Thank you

Hey there, I'm thinking of buying an Alfa Network AWUS036H adapter (chipset: RTL8187L ), I want to use it under Windows XP. I'm asking: Does the driver of AWUS036H (RTL8187L) support changing (spoofing) its MAC address under (native and not virtualized or emulated) Windows XP and is the common way (e.g. registry hack or changing value of Locally Administered MAC Address in NIC's options) enough to do it? Here is what I'm talking about: There are a few kinds of adapters that don't support spoofing their MAC under Windows XP, for example Broadcom's BCM4310 USB. I want to make sure if this long-range device, AWUS036H does support MAC spoofing before I buy it. Please reply soon, Thanks Zooya
