Hi,

Do you get any error message if you run Gpupdate/force? If so, please post back.

Also, check the event log under "Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\Group Policy\Operational"

Hello,

There's no IE Maintenance group policy administrative template in Windows 8, isn't it? This feature is no longer supported, or, better to say, it's implemented differently.

I'll post back when I find the link provided by some other forum member somewhere in my posts regarding failure to install apps from Windows Store when Windows 8 PC is a domain workstation with a corporate proxy server defined via TMG s

Hi,

Please read the following article: Internet Explorer Maintenance Replacements. Here you may find what tools and settings are suggested to maintain Internet Explorer's configuration in Windows 8 via Group Policy Objects.

Alternatively, you can check if manually configuring proxy policy still works. Open the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

Recreate the following REG_SZ values:

 ProxyEnable
 ProxyServer
 ProxyOverride

Also, please read the following article: Group Policy Settings in Internet Explorer 10

Funny, I can't get to understand how do I add the inetres.admx template which is located at %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions\ folder to Group Policy Editor. Selecting Add/Remove Templates in the context menu of Administrative Templates folder in the Local Group Policy Editor does not allow you to choose *.admx files.

I believe you will also need to install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 to get the Administrative Templates for Internet Explorer 10.

Hi

Is there any update on regarding by pass proxy exception on windows through group policy...

April 23rd, 2013 11:40am

I had the same issue, where GPO settings were not applying a proxy and homepage on IE10 with Win8.  Rather than use group policy, I set all me IE settings with a tool called Internet Explorer Administration Kit 10:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36807

It has a nice and easy wizard that helps you package all your IE10 settings into an .msi that you can incorporate into your deployment.  It also has the ability to use a Internet Settings File (.INS) to centrally manage those settings should you need to change them after deployment.

Hi, could you please elaborate it more specifically? Ironically, I've used IEAK once but failed to get the clue how could I manage with bypassing proxy settings using INS/whatever.

I'd appreciate if you could be more specific even tho using IEAK could sound pretty straightforward to you, it's not the case with me and, seemingly, might as well be with many of the others.

Thank you.
