When I was running the beta I tried to burn an ISO. Could not get it done. Went back to XP and used Nero to burn the ISO. No problems. I have found that many of the programs that work on other OS's will not work on 7 just yet. I'm still trying to find a good photo printing program that works on 7. Yesterday I need some high quality prints for a photo shoot. Had to go back to XP to get it done. I think we will get there, But it may take a year or two.

You can't burn an ISO as a UDF anyways, they're 2 completely different formats. ISO is a Disc Image file.You'll need to install some burning software like Nero Burning ROM. Nero has some trial downloads available:http://www.nero.com/enu/support-olderproducts.htmlBoth Nero 8 and/or 7 should work fine with Vista. I've heard about a number of problems with Nero 9, so I'd steer clear of that one if I were you.GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., PNY-nVidia GE Force 8800 GTS (640MB), 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansign Speakers...

What software are you using to burn the ISO file? I use thefree version of an application called DeepBurner http://download.cnet.com/DeepBurner-Free/3000-2646_4-10250994.htmlTry installing it on Vista and then launch DeepBurner. Once the DeepBurner interface appears click on the 'Burn ISO Image' and click Next. In the next screen locate your ISO image and then click the 'Burn ISO Image' option. You might also try reducing the spped of the burn. It is usually set to max but I have found I get better burn results with speeds around 2x or 4xJohn Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;

I have tried using nero 6, medianow, and Active@ ISO Burner and all of them burn the file with no problem, but when I check the properties is it showing as a UDF 1.02

The interesting point is: When you burned the DVD, what result did you get? An *.iso on DVD? Bad. A drive image = a visible folder structure with root that contains a setup.exe, subfolders, etc.? Good. Don't know anything about UDF 1.02.Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. ATIRadeon9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

One way I have always had success with burning a bootable ISO image is to download a free virtual drive program, then mount the ISO image on the virtual drive, now take your burning program of choice and simply copy from virtual to physical drive. Now you've copied an ISO as if it were in a DVD player. Almost always bootable. Hope any of this information helps.

If you can mount the iso file, such as I do using Virtual PC, you can copy the files onto a USB hard drive or flash drive/memory keythen run the setup from the USB drive. Note: you don't boot from the USB device.You can't do this though if youwant to install the 64 bit version and you are running the 32 bit version.

Hi cookrac62: If you want a very simple way to burn your Win7 ISO image, I have posted a url for a website that explains the procedure to burn one using ImgBurn (free download), complete with step by step illustrations and I've used it successfully many times now. (And I'm usually described as "not the brightest bulb in the pack) :) http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/G/Burning+ISO+Images+with+ImgBurn Edit: Perhaps I misunderstood your problem. If you are having problems doing an upgrade from within Vista to Win7 R.C. it may be because you are currently running 32-bit Vista and upgrading to 64-bit Win7 R.C. This will NOT work. You would have to do a "clean install" by booting directly from the ISO DVD you made.

i have download the 32bit version of win 7 RC. I have downloaded it about 4 times and everytime that I burn the iso image to a DVD using various programs, I check the file system and it show it as UDF 1.02. When I explore the disk and try to run it from the setup.exe file, it tells the windows installer has stopped working. I beginning to wonder if the version of windows 7 RC that is out there is a corrupt file or not. Not sure what I'm going do about running the RC version, probably just have to wait till it comes out in the store and buy it.thanks for any help on this matter

cookrac - Have you tried booting the computer using the DVD?

Midnight Rambler - That's not going to work too well. Windows 7 has issues whenever you use virtual drive software like Alcohol 120% and the like. But extracting the setup might be a workable solution.
