Burn image(iso file) to BD-RE using Windows Disc Image Burner
From MS link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file You can burn a disc image file, which often has either an .iso or .img file name extension, to a recordable CD or DVD by using Windows Disc Image Burner. Whether you can burn it to a recordable CD, DVD, or Bluray Disc depends on your disc burner and the type of discs it can burn, the size of the disc image file, as well as the device on which you plan to use the disc. When I inserted a BD-RE(has been formatted)and burn an image file using Windows Disc Image Burner, after click Burn ,it prompts: There is no recordable disc in your burner.Insert a blank recordable disc, and then try again. And at the same time the Blu-Ray Drive ejects the disc. So does Windows 7 Disc image burner support burning image file to Blu-ray discs?

Windows 7 itself does not support burning to BD, but you can do it with 3rd party software like Nero.

Would you please help to provide the links or documents? As you see, I pasted the hyperlink which referred to the Blu-Ray discs.

Help and support claims you can burn a Blu-Ray and no mention of BD. Blue - Ray is becomming the standard.

Okay. I'll concede that Win 7 is supposed to write to Blu-Ray discs if your writer supports it. What is the .ISO file you are trying to write to BD-RE. How big is it?

Of course I have a Blu-Ray Disc Writer. The .ISO file is not determined. I used the Win7 Installation ISO file and also some others which can be burned to DVD discs. Any more, I can burn the same .ISO file to BD-RE with Third-Party Burning Application like Roxio!

I don't know about Roxio, but I do know that with the Win 7 burning, the .ISO can only be burned to a disc the same size as the original. I ran across this when trying to burn a .ISO from a CD image to a DVD thinking I could put more than one .ISO on a disc. So, your problem may be one of Win 7 seeing the BD and the .ISO as not being compatible. When a .ISO is created there is information about the size of the image and the disc that requires a compatible size disc for it to be written to.

Not that I have messed with any Blueray burners, but the OP stated he formated the disc first, I would think that to burn the ISO you would not be formating the disc in advance of burning.

I have formated disks with third party software before burning .iso image many a time. Preparing the disk with Windows 7 two options when it discovers a blank RW or RE may make the disk unusible for .iso burning.
