Bullguard Internet Security 12 and Windows Firewall
Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest you try the following methods: 1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services, make sure the startup type of Security Center Service and Windows Management Instrumentation Service is Automatic and the status of them are Started. Then, manually stop and restart both Service and see how it works. 2. Run command prompt as Administrator and type: regsvr32 /u WMIUTILS.DLL. After rebooting your system, run command prompt as Administrator again and type: regsvr32 WMIUTILS.DLL. 3. Logon your administrator account, temporary uninstall Bullguard Internet Security 12 and make sure Windows Firewall is turned off. Then, please reboot your system and reinstall Bullguard Internet Security 12 and see how it works. Hope this helps. If a post solved your problem, click Mark as Answer on the post. Jeremy Many thanks for the response. I followed the steps in para 1 and noticed that the Security Centre Service had not started and was marked as 'Automatic (Delayed Start). I've changed it to 'Automatic' and stopped and started both services. Not sure if it's fixed the problem as I enabled the Windows Firewall last night to stop Action Centre issue. I've now disabled it and Bullguard is appearing in the Action Centre firewall details. I'll do a few shutdown and restarts and see what happens and use the other steps if it happens again. Once again, many thanks for the pointers. Andrew

Not sure if anyone can help but I've been getting consistent problem with both the Bullguard Internet Security 12 firewall and Windows 7 on my home PC. About 6 months ago when I was using McAfee, on boot up I kept getting Action Centre messages saying both firewalls had been turned off. However, when I checked the settings, McAfee stated the firewall was on. I know you shouldn't run two at the same time and I checked with McAfee and they assured me the McAfee firewall was working and there was nothing to worry about. This went on for a few months, every few days with Action Centre telling on firewall was active and after a number of support chats with McAfee, I decided I didn't feel secure and after reading all the reviews etc, went for Bullguard. This worked ok for a couple of weeks but know I'm getting exactly the same response from Action Centre. However, this time, when I try to activate Bullguard via the Action Centre screen, the issue does not go and Action Centre continues to state I have no firewall. I've again checked with Bullguard who, after checking my settings, assure me that the Bullguard firewall is active and they have informed me it's a problem with Windows 7 and they're waiting for Microsoft to issue a patch. Given I'm getting the same issue I had with McAfee, I tempted to believe this but I'm really concerned something is fundementally wrong. It may well be down to a problem with Windows 7 but after alot of searching, I can't find anyone else having the same issues and I'm at a loss how to get to the bottom of this. Any advice/pointers gratefully appreciated.
