Build 7100 Display Blurred at times
Using HP Pavilion DV2804 Notebook with Intel Mobile 965 Express chipset.Have installed Win 7 build 7100 & since then noticed display is blurred, mostly in the left bottom quadrant. This happens mainly when returning from sleep mode. All updates have been installed.Any ideas on this?XP User

try installing 182.50 Vista in Vista compat mode and report back. Gotta say, this sounds very strange! (I have not had joy with 181.71 Win7 driver)

Seems driver 182.50 is for Nvidia GeForce adapter.I have Intel graphics adapter.Note: when this blur condition appears, if I change to a different desktop background the blur disappears even if I go back to the original background.XP User

Have done some more testing and:When computer returns from sleep,if I do a desktop refresh the blur condition is cleared. Also it seems the entire screen is blurred rather than the lower left quadrant as I thought earlier.Could be desktop refresh is not performed when returning from sleep?XP User

Hi, check if your video driver digitally singed by starting dxdiag from the start menu search box.check the screen refresh rate as well. It's all about Windows.

Is your background a .jpg or .bmp? Sharpening is applied to .jpg's, and it almost sounds as if your machine is getting stuck halfway through the sharpening process when coming out of sleep mode. Makes sense especially when you say choosing another background or refreshing fixes the problem.

Driver is digitally signed & refresh rate is at max = 60 hz.XP User

It is the default Win 7 background which is a JPEG of 292KB. I did not have this problem in build 7068. I think there was a driver update in build 7100. Will check ASAP & reply back.XP User

All seems well now.A new display driver was installed on May 4. I rolled back to previous driver & tested OK. Then I reinstalled the new driver & it seems OK so far. Thanks for the input.XP User
