Broken installation of Office 2007
I was installing Office 2007 on Windows 7 and it was about halfway when the computer froze so I had to restart it and now every time I try to install it gives an error. Is there something I need to delete to make it work?

Is there something I need to delete to make it work? Hi JasperGo to Start / All programs / Accessories / System Tools and select the Disk Cleanup tool. Follow the instructions and make sure that you select to remove all Temporary and Office Setup files. If this does not work, this link to the removal utility shouldremove any stray bits from the system and allow you to start the installer again. Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

I tried the first one and same thing, so I opened the cleanup utility and removed all office things and now I get a new error. Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key.

Hello Jasper,The registry key in question had its permissions corrupted or it got deleted altogether. This article details the same exact scenario in Windows Vista but the fix seems to be the same.-Scott

I tried all of the fixes listed at the link and I am still getting the error. I couldn't find the registry key it lists in the error in regedit.
