Booting into Command Prompt with Bitlocker Windows 8.1

I am trying to boot into command prompt so I can run a very resource intensive script without any of the standard Microsoft services taking up any of my CPU and memory.

  • I booted into command prompt, entered the 48 character Bitlocker password, then it ask me for the password for my account.
  • It keeps telling me this password is wrong even though I know 100% it is correct.
  • I have Active Directory open on the computer next to me and checked the password character for character.
  • I even ensured that I was using US keyboard layout under the options.

Why is it not accepting my password?

Hi,

Which account do you use to login command mode? Domain account or local account? How about using system built-in account to login, please have a try.

Please specify what you did. Did you boot windows in safe mode with command prompt ("option 6" from http://www.filesriver.com/read/how-to-start-windows-in-safe-mode-with-command-prompt/18 ?

Because when I do this on a bitlocked 8.1 system, I don't need the recovery key but as usual the password. And also the logon succeeds.
