Blurry Text on Windows 7
Hi, We have an issue on a new Windows 7 Professional PC where all the text looks blurry and as a result the user experiences headaches. All truetype font changes have been tried to no success. Drivers have been updated and still the same. Has anyone else had this issue? Cheers. Louis

Have you used the ClearType-Tuner from the Control Panel? Does it sovle the issue? Which resolution do you use?"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Louis H Yes I have that issue. Using the ClearType Tuner will help. But there may still be headaches. The only resolve was to set the monitor resolution to it's "Native Resolution" or go back to a CRT monitor. This monitor is only about 2 months old (23 1/2" LG). Used it for 4 days and went back to the CRT do to eye strain. Everyone wanted to view some movies with it. So I got it back out of the box and changed res to 1080P settings. Tpye was then very clear. Tried other settings and everything was fuzzy looking again. Went to my son's computer (22" LG) and set his to his native(1680 x 1050) his was now clear. Grant you the small print is not something I like but the clarity is much better. A lot easier on the eyes. Before replying to this post I got out my old drives and installed them. Windows XP and Windows Vista 64 do not have this problem. Five different settings were used on each and all were clear and some huge and clear. The main TV in the house is a 60" Mitsubishi LCD and at the native setting(1920 x1080) Windows 7 type is still very clear. Having a problem now because my son wants to use it as his monitor now since the HDMI cable is still attached from his computer. I must admit it does look awesome. Test out the native resolution approach. If it pans out it may a good to try and find a monitor with native resolution that you need to run. This may require going back in time a bit. The new ones keep increasing their high end resolution. Or increase font size, change to Large Icons and/or increase DPI while in Native resolution setting. No need then for different monitor. JB

The GDI ClearTpye is nice. I'm using it since 2001. You should have a look at a WPF application. This font rendering is horrible and causes headaches for me. After seeing the WPF font rendering you will love the GDI ClearType."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
