Bluetooth mouse suddenly crashes
I'm using a Logitech bluetooth mouse on my Sony Vaio Z1 notebook under Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I can do that for hours, but suddenly the mouse pointer may freeze and there is nothing I can do to wake up the pointer, except closing all work and restarting my computer. The keyboard (bluetooth) will freeze as well. The notebook built-in glide pad is still working fine. When I check "bluetooth devices", the troubleshooter can't find the problem. The driver properties still pretend the bluetooth mouse is connected. Neither turning on or off the adapter nor deleting and reinstalling the mouse will work. Bluetooth has terminated and can't be resurrected. I applied the Hotfix KB980396-x64but it didn't fix the problem... however, I'm under the impression that crashes now happen less often but are more severe. Thanks for your help!

Hi, First, please ensure the chipset (motherboard) driver is up-to-date. Please check the compatibility from Windows 7 Compatibility Center or the manufacturers’ websites and check the Bluetooth adapter. · After that, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot your issue: 1. Try uninstalling any keyboard and mouse software in "Programs and Features"(Click on Start, Control Panel -> Programs and Features). 2. Next check Device Manager and uninstall the keyboard and mouse devices there too. 3. Reboot and see what happens. The "Found Hardware Wizard" should reinstall the keyboard and mouse, hopefully fixing your problem. You may also visit your keyboard and mouse manufacturers’ website and download the driver software and install them. Check if that helps you. Sorry, Sabrina, doesn't work. Sony sells these Notebooks with Windows 7. The bluetooth drivers come with the device. Nevertheless, I did all actions you recommended and it didn't change anything. The computer is an ACPI x64-based PC and the driver has been up-to-date, the same for the Mouse and Keyboard. I freshly downloaded and installed the latest version from Logitech. No change. Thanks for the attempt.
