Hi Lady Cole,a. When did the issue occur?b. Do you remember making any changes to your computer prior to the issue occurring?Step 1:Try the following steps to disable automatic restart on system failure:a. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.b. Select disable automatic restart on system failure when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.When a problem causes a Blue Screen Of Death or another major error that halts the system, the computer will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary and you would be able to note down the error message and post back.A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222 Step 2: Start your machine in safe mode and check if the issue persists.Step 3: If the issue does not occur in safe mode, I'd have you put your machine in a clean boot state to determine if the issue is caused by a third party software conflict. Clean boot helps eliminates third party software conflict.Note : Do not forget to restart your machine as usual.Azeez Nadeem - Microsoft Support[If this post was helpful, please click the "Vote as Helpful" (green triangle) button.
