Blue Screen on Windows 7 64-bit when accessing a share
On my desktop running Windows 7 64-bit, I have a shared folder that I access from various XP and Windows 7 machines around the building. There's never more than one machine accessing the share at a time. For months it worked with no problem but a couple of months ago my desktop started to bluescreen whenever I accessed that share. I can open the folder, and even subfolders but as soon as I try to drag a file over, blue screen on the desktop. At first the problem was intermittent. It has gotten steadily worse to the point that today I am unable to access any shares on this desktop without it crashing. I have reinstalled my network card drivers (Intel 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection) but the problem persists. I have tried sharing a different folder. No dice. Suggestions?

A bugcheck (BSOD) is a mechanism to protect your PC from damage. To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows. Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here. Hi, I had this exact same problem on a Dell laptop with the same NIC card. Please try downgrading your NIC card driver to version 11.5.10.0 and let us know the results. Thanks,

Silver, Thanks for the tip, I'm at 11.6.92.0. If I get a chance tonight I'll try to find the older version of the driver. Intel's website isn't responding at the moment. Dan

Actually, as much as I like to play "Blame Symantec" myself, it had nothing to do with this problem. Updating the Intel network driver fixed the issue. Intel released a new version just a few weeks ago.
