Blue Screen at shutdown (A Driver Problem)
Well after 9 windows 7 re-installs i caught it. Need some help here. Blue screen at shutdown and messes up my Raid0 drives. They fail at boot and then at reset it will be alright, but it will be missing operating system. Reset again and it will be OK. The blue screen is found to happen at 2 events. Restart/shutdown and if I disconnect from the wireless connection. Unplugging the wireless adapter before shutting down works. But when it goes to sleep it messes up. Can someone help. Hi jjjjbbbbOther than the blue screen, is there any error being displayed? Alternatively you could go to ctrl panel>adminstrative tools>event viewer andlook for events that have occurred on your comps

Alternatively you could go to ctrl panel>adminstrative tools>event viewer andlook for events that have occurred on your comps Yes. Also in control panel / system / advanced system settings / advanced tab - startup and recovery section - click settings button / uncheck "Automatically restart" This will give you a chance to see the error. Hope that helps.

KrisM77 32 bit It is now unchecked What should happen? Daniel Ho I have a lot of errors. I can cause this to happen, but it will take about 5 minutes to get it going again. What should I be looking for. Let say this; I have 2 copies of Windows 7 coming when it it released. So I am committed. I just need to know how to get it right when it comes. Two other machines are working fine. This one has become the bear.

KrisM77 32 bit It is now unchecked What should happen? with 32bit, I have experienced blue screens with anything over 2GB memory. On 3 different mobos. When unchecked, it will stop at the blue screen so you can write down the errors and numbers and often a google for the stop code will give you a big hint. Hope that helps.

KrisM77 Oddly enough this build was to be 64bit. So I am dual boot with 64 and 32. Since it is triple channel I sort of have no choice unless I purchase more memory. The wireless adapter will not work on the 64bit. I did a chat with linksys/Cisco and was told that there is only one adapter that has a 64bit driver and it is not mine. I will try that. Sick_ I just might do that.

As for how to go into safe mode, Click Start, and then click Shut Down. Select Restart, and then click OK. Press F8 at the indicated time, sometime you have to hit a few time once you see POST (power on self test) in bios Once inside safe mode verify everything is working fine under device manager as in no exclamation mark and most device is being detected before you choose last known good configuration

I have done that each time before I re-installed nothing ever showed up with the exclamation sign. I has taken me 2 days to get to this point I googled the rrt2500usb.sys and found the same problem that i had. The person corrected it by hunting down a certain version of the driver. The install program is WUSB54GV4_20051110 (JUST IN CASE SOME ONE ELSE NEEDS IT). Installed it with compatibility of XP SP2 and run as admin.. Restarted it once so far and it took a little longer to shutdown but there was no BLUE SCREEN and restarted fine. Thanks for all the help. Now I just need to know the well kept secret of how to share all drives like XP. And where is the Simple Share. I saw it once but can't find it again. So the answers were: stop the auto restart(to see the problem), post the info and then google the info. Thanks again
