Block Websites for VPN
im hosting a VPN for friends and others using the built in windows 7 one, i was wondering if there was a way that i could block websites without using the hosts file, All help is useful, thanks

Hi, If you are wanting to block sites via a VPN connection I recommend the following: * Set up a DNS filtration system like OpenDNS or other equivalent DNS * Configure the DHCP element of the VPN to use the OpenDNS DNS address * You can add extra security by setting up ARP (RARP) and issuing DHCP based on MAC address meaning that your alternate (non filtered DNS) traffic will be unavailable by rule to the VPN end user. - I find using seperate VLAN or IP Ranges is very useful.
