Black screen on startup (windows 7 64bit)
whenever i start my computer i get a black screen after it says starting windows! its when its supposed to show the login page but it goes black and stays black no mouse cursor or nothing i cant do anything not even ctrl+alt+del works!! ive tried several
work arounds and so called fixes from this forum and the only one that works is if i start the computer in safe mode then i login to windows and use the system restore and then it boots up normal! i had windows xp and never had this problem then i did a clean
install of windows 7 32-bit and this problem started straight away and then i went out and bought windows 7 64-bit because i upgraded my RAM to 8gb and 32-bit only allows 4gb but still the same problem. It only happens when i shut down my computer if i use
the work around and login normal then restart the computer it works fine and boots up normally but whenever i shut down and start the computer the black screen appears. I shouldnt have to use the workaround everytime i want to start my computer it should start
up normally thats what i paid for but not getting the results i wanted from windows 7. any ideas???? are there any proper fixes so that i dont have to keep using the work around everytime i turn on my pc????? help much appreciated!!

I'm getting the exact same problem as you, except I'm using Boot Camp with a Mac, don't know if this affects anything?
I've tried re-installing drivers, but it still comes up with a black screen after the Starting Windows screen disappears. Windows will still boot up through VMware Fusion or safe mode but just not normally.
Can somebody shed some light on this please? Thanks.

I have almost the same issue. Only difference is this computer has always been 64 bit. I did just upgrade my ram to 8 GB. and this started 1 week later. I have a 2nd computer the same kind model and just upgraded it too and it is fine.
Also during the black screen there are white and other color dots along the very top of the screen. It starts on the left and goes all the way across.
So did this fix this guys computer?
